Sun-kissed

Despite best laid plans to visit all the attractions Orlando has to offer, the kids seemed just as happy to spend the day in the pool with their Aunti Anne and Uncle Scott. The icing on the cake for them were their new flip-flops and pink crocks bought in anticipation of wet sandy days in the sun. The week was a reminder that life is most enjoyable when the KISS principle is respected...warm water and sun, a few low maintenance pets (geckos), washable shoes, good food and great company makes for our perfect vacation.

Gracie who is phobic of any type of water contact seemed to warm up to the idea and even had a inadvertent underwater experience when she and Uncle Scott dove in to rescue his wayward hat. (However, this week, she's returned to her aqua phobic state of screaming when her toes get damp at swim class.)

The night before leaving for home we made plans for another family reunion in Florida next year and celebrated our great week at a beautiful local restaurant. On our way out, a blond lady with her Asian daughter walked by and my daughters stared at them with intense expressions. "Wait for it" I said expecting a barrage of questions about families created through international adoption.

"Nice Shoes" Lil and Grace said in unison, ending our holiday on a perfect note.
