Contractions
Last week our contractor said "it's time to come inside",code for we are going to knock interior walls down to meld the new addition with the old house. This shrank our existing minimal living space into very cozy accomodation, bearable only because we can now peak hopefully into the new enclosed addition which looks phenomenal. We don't have anything to complain about because our builders are out there in frigid conditions hammering away 10 hours a day while we are dry and warm inside.
Lil's room has been taken apart to add a dormer and support for the new roof and I suspect the neighbourhood racoon who usually hangs around the roof is living in there at the moment. By the end of the week, I think we'll be connected up and one big happy family in one big house (minus a racoon).
The girls seem unaffected by the inconveniences of our living conditions and see the whole project as a big adventure...junior renovators in the making.
