Empty Nest

Lil had a full schedule of activities this weekend - a birthday party on Saturday and a movie date with her BFF Molly on Sunday. Too much excitement for the junior partner.

So what then does a high energy boomer couple do with the first few kid free hours they've had since 2005? They go to Home Depot of course. Oh we had such fun browsing all the aisles looking for ideas, planning projects. And then the really good part...we went to Starbucks and indulged in coffee and lemon cake. A little quiet time with my handsome man...a girl could get ideas. So I asked: Should we renovate the bathroom next? I would need to see a picture he says. I already have one said I. Sometimes the best part of parenting is appreciating the time when you don't have to.

It would appear that matching this month included March 7, 8 and 9th. That leaves March 10 and 13th to be matched before they get to our files on the 14th. My gut tells me that we are in the next batch expected to arrive in 3 to 4 weeks. We are now in serious getting ready mode...its like the doc says you're 3 cm dilated and you've lost your plug. But we all know, kids come when they're good and ready.
