Happy Spring Everyone! This is the time when our household gets busy starting plants for the vegetable garden and arranging for 12 yards of compost to arrive in our front yard.
Given all the past frustrations of gardening in Alberta, I tend to be a little generous in the sprinkling of seeds and inevitably run into an ethical debate about whether to thin out the little sprouts in order to produce one super strong broccoli plant or to let them all grow and make extra beds in the garden. And given that I now garden in Ontario, our gardening fertility is remarkable. While the decision is a tough one, I thinned my seedlings out...I mean, how much folic acid does a girl really need anyway.
Speaking of vegetables, the Sacred Heart diet is pretty remarkable. We went through 3 cartons of vegetables in one week, ended up within a few pounds of our wedding day weight and felt pretty good when the week was up. Banana day is bad though and no Annie, the diet does not involve Holy Water.
We took Lil to see Bowfire last week - if any of you ever get the chance to see this group of musicians play...GO. Breathtaking. Sneak a peak at www.bowfire.com. Lil says she's going to learn the violin next week...she has a few days of practice left before she masters the piano. She's let us know that her musical pursuits are just hobbies because she's going to be a doctor like Daddy and a farmer like Momma. That's our girl.
Early rumours on China Adopt Talk put the next matching cut-off somewhere between March 9 and 14...so theoretically we could be included in the batch coming out in the next few weeks. But fool me once, shame on you...fool me 242 times, shame on me. I feel some heartburn coming on.
