The Expanding Waistline

Today I began the Sacred Heart Diet to address the gradually expanding non-pregnancy related lumps and bumps that have magically appeared since Christmas Cookie season. I have long been a supporter of the low carb diet but my recent poor resistance to everything chocolate requires a more radical approach. This is allegedly the diet that cardiac surgery candidates are put on pre-op to take weight off fast.
This situation has become urgent recently because I am getting my leg veins injected this week. I am not worried about the 100 injections in my leg, nor the post-op instructions to wear heavy duty support hose...no no no...the real problem is that I have to bring a pair of shorts to wear for the procedure and on this date, I would not be caught dead in a piece of clothing that did not extend to my ankles.
So I've made the soup that includes about 20 pounds of vegetables, and I have had 3 bowls of it and as much fruit as I can stomach. It's only day one and I feel like this is the prep for a colonoscopy. Anyway, on day two, I can have only vegetables and I am currently pondering what combination of veggies may appeal to me at 6 am tomorrow morning. I am leaving a pair of summer shorts hanging on the door for motivation.
Tony is on call today but he said he plans to join me on the diet tomorrow...it's a good thing we have three bathrooms.
Hey, isn't chocolate a vegetable?
