Small But Mighty turns 4!

My youngest sister has always been very sensitive about the lack of photographic evidence of her childhood or any celebrations for her. By the time she was searching my parents house looking for pictures of her childhood to share at her wedding, Mom had developed dementia and hidden or destroyed them all. That was the story anyway and I am sure she'll write a book about it someday.

Keeping in mind that photos and birthday parties are cheaper than psychotherapy, I decided that despite the fact that Grace's birthday shares a date with the New Year, we should make as much fuss as possible about it as we always have for Lil's birthday. So the first party was with Godmother Aunti Cathy, family and dogs. Plenty of Chinese food, martinis, and Curious George was enjoyed by all and Grace enjoyed being the centre of attention.

I spent the next few days preparing for Grace's birthday party at the daycare. The icing on the ugly cupcake saga occurred when Lil hid her chocolate cupcake from Grace, only for Sophie to find it. Not knowing which dog ingested the delicacey, both endured a dose of hydrogen peroxide (dog equivalent of epicac) and Lil spent an evening cleaning up the consequences while I continued with the party planning.

30 kids, lizards, kangaroos, snakes, bunnies and tarantulas were invited to the second party and Grace now feels fully celebrated and photographed...but Mom may need a little post party psychotherapy.
