Our big fat family vacation 2018
Normally we consider our March break to be a time of peace and quiet...away from the crazy pace that is our life. However, this March break took a turn for the best...thanks to the runaway vacation plans of my sister Annie.
"Stew and I are going to be in Florida at the same time...we could meet up!" she declared. Always happy to have a little adult company is the Disney capital of the US, the party plans began. A few weeks later, my nephew Nick and his new wife Clare would be joining us, and then my niece Lindsey and her husband Josh were coming down as well. Not to be outdone, we invited Tony's daughter Mandy and her partner Robin. The family reunion was launched.
We are lucky enough to have a time share that includes a house sized kitchen, so there was no shortage of eating and sharing the spirits each night. My family is not the most sedate ( I know you are surprised right) but there were no complaints from the neighbours. Anyone who may have overindulged in scotch (no finger pointing here) just had to walk down the path to their hotel room, and as long as they didn't fall in the lake, there were no gator surprises.

Lily and Grace had some quality time with sister Mandy and put her partner Robin through the Pattinson family paces. Robin managed to survive Grace's prodding questions, brutal honesty and Lily's hyperdrive with calm courage and we were relieved to hear that she still wanted to be part of the family when the holiday was over.

As much as we love Florida, after 8 years of it, the parks thing has gotten a little old...or maybe we have...but the kids still love it. Multiple young energetic nieces and nephews took charge and off they all went to Universal for the day. It did our hearts good to see how absolutely dog tired they were after a day with our two firecrackers...we think the experience may have been contraceptive.

The boy and I did manage to get a little quiet time in...and spent much of it running to the grocery store to restock the fridge because whether it is on holiday, or at home, I never have an empty fridge. This is tied to a deep-seated need that I have to feed anyone who drops in a minimum of 2000 calories.
Our last night together, Stew and Anne took us all out for a wonderful dinner and my sister and I planned and plotted our next wonderful big fat family vacation. R&R is highly overrated!
