Grace in Space
We've attributed some of her fascination with heights is her personal lack of such...we call her small but mighty...but she seems genuinely disinterested in anyone's opinion on why she likes what she does. She claims that she's not getting married or having kids (too much trouble) and I suspect she will have a house full of schnauzers given her attachment to the dogs.
So after all this talk about the planets, we decided to take a day trip to the Kennedy Space Centre during our recent trip to Orlando. We didn't expect a lot of excitement from Grace, she absorbs and digests and then comments a few months later when it suits her.
A week after returning home, Grace said, I want to be a scientist of the human body here on earth.
You mean like a doctor? (I was surprised as Grace has always denied an interest in medicine or other humans in general) What type of doctor do you think you'd like to be?
And so I went down the list: Obstetrician (yuck), Pediatrics (too noisy), Orthopedic surgeon(do they really use power tools?), Internist, endocrinologist, anesthesiologist, radiologist. Nope to all.
"I don't want to have to chit chat with people"
How about pathology?
"That's the one!" she said "I can cut them up and they won't complain" "But maybe you should be talking to Lily...she's running out of time to make a decision. I still have time to change my mind" she offered sage advice.
My daughter the doctor. Just don't ask if she's accepting patients.
