Peace Treaty

It would seem that our crazy home is starting to achieve a state of balance, however temporary it may be. For one thing, the wet-room is finally completed and the construction crew has departed taking all of the mess with them. Having our main floor bathroom out of commission for 7 weeks was an inconvenience we were not really prepared for. The kids adapted quickly to using our master suite bathroom, with the subsequent loss of the last smidgen of privacy my lovely man and I enjoy. Not that I've been able to have a shower or enjoy a quiet moment on the throne without pediatric commentary for the past few months.
Lil and Grace have made great progress this week. Previously Grace had persistently howled if Lil touched her and any of her stuff. Lil considered Grace to be just a lot of hard work wrapped up in smelly pants. They engaged in furious competition for attention, Grace because she hadn't had much in the past, and Lil because she had not had to compete for a long time. Bella, more often than not was the mediator, jumping in the middle of skirmishes, hoping for a little ear scratch now and then.
When Lil came along, we developed a large playroom with a secure door on our basement level and it has turned out to be quite sound-proof as well. With the construction in our family room bathroom, the girls had to play down there, and I was blissfully unaware if there was any naughtiness going on. Lil has returned from the battlefield relatively unharmed, but Grace has suffered a bit tongue and a shiner...all of which happened mysteriously. It would seem to be worth it though as they are best buds now, screaming with excitement when they see each other, blowing kisses and hugging....this week. There seems to be a pact between them...what happens in the room, stays in the room.
