Oodles of Noodles Meets the Eating Machine

Uncle Scott (our resident coroner) has a great expression that Gracie has taken seriously:  "if you don't eat, you don't poop, and if you don't poop, you're dead, so eat.  She has now entered the "will eat anything without a pulse" phase and for the last 3 days has spent most of her waking hours ingesting food of all types.  Today, however, there was a consequence, or outcome so to speak and she has not had a happy time of it.  We have learned that like her sister, she has excellent lungs and stamina.  This too shall pass.
Last night we discovered a noodle house from heaven.  For 22 bucks, the 6 of us ate fresh handmade noodles in various dishes and dumplings like I have never had before until we were too stuffed to move.  The boys ordered beer which came in 1 litre size and they made me promise that I would not blog that they snuck one bottle home in the baby stroller.  I would visit Nanning again just to eat there.
We have found the Nanning people quite curious about us, and they will often come up to us and just look...no words...just look very intently.  On the way home from our culinary adventure, a bicyclist caught a glimpse of us and slammed on her brakes to stop and look, to the displeasure of the 40 or so bikers following her who had maintained their break-neck speed.  We came close to finding ourselves in a pile of bikes in the middle of the main street.  It would seem that mother was right...I am just an accident waiting for a place to happen.
There is much excitement at the hotel today, red carpet, flowers, beautiful girls in silk dresses. There is a celebration for a new business here so we took advantage of the scenery and took Lil's photo on the red carpet.  Doesn't she look right at home there.
Then it was on the bus to Green Mountain Park - a magnificent oasis of tropical plantings and a dinosaur park.  We could not resist taking photos of the girls in the dino eggs.  I did get a number of gardening ideas, most of which will require a forklift.  Tony, Annie and Scott climbed up 200 stairs to the top of the pagoda, while Lily ran up ahead.  Beautiful views of the city were enjoyed.
We ended the morning feeding the fish at the park...we're talking fish that jump on top of each other to get to the food.  Lily said she would rather buy fish food than buy lunch, so we let her.  Such a nature girl.
Tomorrow we are all heading off to a country village where most of our girls are said to come from.  In all, we have been so impressed with the beauty of Nanning and hope to return here (just to visit) again some day.
So enjoy the photos.  We are off to the noodle house again as soon as we can pry Lily out of the swimming pool.
