Dear Santa

"Mom I've added something to my Santa List this week" says Lil
"Not another horse right?
"No, I've asked for a DVI"
"A What?"
"It's a video game, camera and cell phone all in one"
"I've never heard of that"
"One of the kids at school has one. I will show it to you when Santa brings it"
"If Santa brings one of those, its going back...that's too much technology for a six year old"
"Mom...what's technology mean?"

So we took the kids to meet Santa at a horse ranch this weekend on the condition that we did not adopt any of them, not even Jack the donkey. One of the hosts mentioned that they run a camp teaching kids how to take care of horses...Tony rolled his eyes. WE ARE NOT GETTING A HORSE, says he.

After a long discussion with Santa, Lil says: I asked him for a digital camera.
That`s a relief, I thought. But then I began to wonder if we are on that slippery slope where Lil asks for a Ferrari for her 16th birthday and after negotiation, settles for a BMW...with a new trailer for her horse.
